Whats Next Tells the Story of an Urban Fall From Grace and Attempt at Renewal

NEW YORK – New York-based C-Films today announced a mid-October start date of production on “What’s Next” its first feature film. “We are excited about starting production on our first feature film,” said Kadia Cyllah, founder of C-Films. “It has been a long time in the planning stage and I am looking forward to moving forward with production.” “What’s Next” tells the story of two men, Hassan and Kyle that are street pharmacists. Their lives are going well until Hassan gets arrested for possession of a large quantity of cocaine. The arrest puts strain on their friendship and Hassan ends up serving a sentence in a maximum security prison. “This fall from glory is quite usual in the urban environment,” Cyllah said. “Just like in real life, the outside changes but Hassan is really unable to adjust.” While in prison, Hassan starts fighting to defend himself without learning that he is actually part of a plot by the guards to tie fighting in jail to the underground fighting now happening outside the prison walls. After a few years, Hassan is released and learns that life outside prison actually now mirrors how life was inside the prison and he is forced to fight to make money and support himself. He endures the walk through the underground of the new society but is unable to adjust to a world set for his fall and demise. “It is a real tragedy what happens to his life,” Cyllah said. “He expects to adjust to regular life outside the prison walls to find out that life is just as bad outside as it is inside.
