NOMINATIONS FOR THE 1ST   ANNUAL DOWNLOAD MUSIC AWARDS ANNOUNCED!! London, UK  29/08/09 - SOPHIE ELLIS BEXTOR, LADY GAGA, CALVIN HARRIS, BLACK EYED PEAS, THE SATURDAYS, PIXIE LOTT, SUGABABES, FLORENCE & THE MACHINE, LILLY ALLEN, THE NOISETTES AND THE ARCTIC MONKEYS TOP NOMINATIONS AT BRAND NEW  ANNUAL DOWNLOAD MUSIC AWARDS. The rise and rise of the download music market has given birth to the first ever annual Download Music Awards. Over 200,000 music fans have been nominating for 11 categories at the prestigious Download Music Awards due to take place in October. The televised show due to be held during the 5th annual British Music Week on the 3rd of Oct 2009  in London will be  attended by more than 2,000 Artist,  producers, promoters, record labels executives, celebrities from the world of music, radio, TV, sports and music fans worldwide. True to tradition, the public will rule and stars will rejoice with them as all 100% of all voting will be carried out by music fans that buy and support live gigs and music tours. The Noisettes & chart topper, Lilly Allen grab four nominations this year. Lilly Allen, who counts the worldwide web for her rise to fame, is up for Best Album, Best Music Video, and Best Female Act & Best Single for the 2009 hit ‘Not fair’. Florence & the Machine picked up double nominations for Best Album and Best Music Video whilst long running girl group Sugababes grab three nominations. Newcomers and hardworking act, The Saturdays bag a double nomination for Best Newcomer and Best Female Act 2009. American superstar, Lady Gaga picks up a nomination for Best Female Act 2009 after successfully topping the charts this year with a string of hits. Jordan Kensington, senior president of Invincible Group and executive producer of the awards said, “Music downloads have become the fastest route for real music fans from all around the world to purchase music and support new bands and with the continuous rise of social networking sites like Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Myspace including the emergence of the Official charts for Downloads.
