This signal is readable on any standard X-Band Radar. The signal emitted produces a blip that shows up on commercial and recreational X-band Radar. The Product The VRB is an “Active Radar Reflector” device that consists of a receiver, antenna, radar receiver, amplifier, transmitter and transmitter antenna that emit an X-band radar signal. This compact “Electronic Flare” is designed for immediate activation to provide a radar location. The VRB is a stand-alone radar transponder that transmits within the 9.2-9.5 GHz marine band radar. The VRB is manually activated for signaling. When activated by the user the VRB goes into “stand-by” mode until interrogated by radar, once interrogated the unit returns location signal to any X-Band radar screen, which allows a boat operator to make his or her vessel visible to any other radar equipped vessel or aircraft. The VRB comes self-contained with its own power supply and is compact enough to be used as a personally worn unit for paddle sport and PWC enthusiasts. It also features an optional hardwire kit that enables the user to power the VRB from a vessel’s own power supply for countless hours of operation. VRB owners are not required to have radar or any other device to use the VRB and no receiver unit is required.
