Why be alone on Rosh Hashanah?

There are many of us that, for one reason or another, are removed from our families on this special Holiday. Or we just feel the need to do something different. Maybe taste different but familiar foods. Or maybe, we just can’t stop being social! Rosh Hashanah, literally "head of the year," is a Jewish holiday commonly referred to as the "Jewish New Year." It is observed on the first day of Tishrei, the seventh month of the Hebrew calendar, as ordained in the Torah, in Leviticus 23:24. Each year on Rosh Hashanah, "all inhabitants of the world pass before G-d like a flock of sheep," and it is decreed in the heavenly court, "who shall live, and who shall die... who shall be impoverished, and who shall be enriched; who shall fall and who shall rise." This year, the Chabad Enrichment Center of Gwinnett extends an invitation to the Atlanta Jewish community to join them to be the guests of honor of their community Rosh Hashanah dinner.
