The 161st Running at Aintree takes place on Saturday 4th April 2009. The Grand National is England’s most prestigious horse race. The four and half mile gruelling course comprises of over 30 fences and is arguably the toughest horse race anywhere in the world.
There is so much that can be said about the Horse. “....There is nothing so powerful, nothing less violent; there is nothing so quick; nothing more patient....” – Ronald Duncan.
And there are so many horsey goodies out there for you to harness too, so saddle up, and let’s kick on!
Have you, or anybody you know ever wanted a pony? The cost was always the fly in the ointment, or should I say hoof oil. I mean stabling wasn’t a problem because you had your little brothers bedroom earmarked, with your Wendy-house as backup. But no, you had to settle for a My Little Pony instead.
Well thanks to Findmeagift.com, you can Adopt a Pony, give a gift of adopting an Exmoor Pony for 12 months and help save this endangered breed of ponies (but note you can’t actually take one home though). Endorsed by the Moorland Mousie Trust and the Exmoor Pony Centre, this gift lets you choose which pony you want to adopt and care for. The gift pack includes a welcome letter, presentation certificate, personalisation pen, loads of information, including a booklet about endangered Exmoor Ponies. And if that wasn’t enough to get your hoof pick into, you can even visit your pony in its natural wilderness. Beats a plastic pony any day!

But what if you want to ride a horse or pony and have your own races? Keep your jodhpurs on and snaffle a Horsey Hopper, a Horse Space Hopper, how fantastic is that! Whoever came up with this version deserves a Gold Cup and a rosette!
The Horsey Hopper is a crazy fun filled lively horse racing game for kids, or for the kid in YOU! It includes everything you need for a galloping good race. Simply blow up your space hoppers, ‘saddle up’ with the realistic horsey covers, don one of the provided jockey caps, get someone to blow the whistle and hop your way to the winners flag - which are both included too. Have a real two horsey hopper race!

We’re certainly off to the races now. However, if you prefer something a little less energetic, then rein in a Remote Controlled Horse Racing Game. No need to put a foot in a stirrup with this gift of a game. It features two remote controlled Infra-Red Horses, which race around the track. It comes with fake money to place your bet with and a gold trophy cup for the winner (not real either, just in case you were wondering). The two Infra-Red remote controls run off polo’s, sorry, batteries, so don’t forget to purchase some of those from findmeagift.com at the same time. Additional horses can be bought, so you can turn it into a four horse race if you wish.
If that has spurred you on to get more involved with horse racing then this is the gift experience for you. Discover Horse Racing Experience for Two. Discover the sport of kings with a visit to the gallops, a tour of a trainer’s stables and entrance to the members’ enclosure for an afternoon at the races. You will be accompanied by a racing professional throughout, who will explain all aspects of racing, including following form and placing bets. This gift experience is available on selected race days (excluding big race meetings) and at a variety of locations, including Newmarket, Haydock and Cheltenham.
Are you feeling a bit saddle sore from all these gifts? Well let’s change gait and trot onto this last excellent equine themed offering, before you ride off into the sunset.
For the ultimate horse racing aficionado, you must see our Personalised Book of Horse Racing History. Relive the greatest moments from one of Britain’s favourite sports, Horse Racing, in newsprint. It features coverage of British Horse Racing from 1905 as reported in the newspapers to the recent past. It is presented in a beautiful burgundy hand-made leatherette book, which can be personalised with the recipients’ name in gold embossed print, on the front cover.
So will you take the bit between your teeth and place a bet on the Grand National? Will you gamble on the favourite to win, or back a long shot?

But if you want a safe bet, stick with the ‘hay’ net and hot hoof it to findmeagift.com instead. The ‘mount’ of gifts to choose from mean the odds of picking a winning gift are so stacked in your favour, you simply cannot lose, they are all winners! So before I scurry off, let me leave you with one of my favourite quotes about horses; “If your horse says no, you either asked the wrong question, or asked the question wrong” – Pat Parelli.
Hay, you can apply that to us humans too, don’t you think!
