Google, which of late, relaxed the use of trademark terms as a prompt for showing ads, has again loosened its ad policies to allow trademark terms to be used within ad copy, within reason, in the United States.
People will be able to use trademarks to trigger ads beginning June 15th as long as the advertiser is a reseller of a product or is providing information about it.
Google says the modification is designed to help relevancy. Numerous studies have revealed that searchers find search results more pertinent when they contain the actual term they searched for.
People that can make best use of this are;
* Resellers of products
* Sales of components, parts, and “compatible products” (accessories)
* Informative, non-competitive reviews where the advertiser doesn’t sell or help sell goods and services of a competitor of the trademark holder
Not everyone can get around the trademark ban if a trademark holder has requested it!
