Decreased manufacturing and plummeting worldwide car sales have resulted in car hire companies retaining, rather than increasing the number of vehicles in their fleets at peak times. This year, fleets have been cut across the industry by 30%. Usually, car hire companies increase their fleets at peak times and then reduce them through winter and off-peak periods.
