Multimedia on the Go with the Samsung Jet S8000

Samsung has long been known for producing mobiles that do not only have very stylish designs, but also provide users with an excellent multimedia experience.

Samsung has long been known for producing mobiles that do not only have very stylish designs, but also provide users with an excellent multimedia experience. The new Jet S8000 is the latest bearer of this highly regarded feature as it lives up to Samsung’s reputation of giving high priority to the access and sharing of pictures, music, and videos on their mobile phones.  Read on below for the whole multimedia experience. Gallery Upgrade Similar to previous Samsung mobiles, the S8000 also has 2 picture galleries which are both very touch-and user-friendly. This time around, there is a different view mode for each gallery and they’re both quite awesome. The first is a basic gallery view that allows image sorting by size, name, date, or type. It’s very similar to accessing any type of file folder. The second is the more visually elaborate among the two as it provides a zigzag view layout that lets users scroll through the pictures with ease. The image browsing speed on the S8000 is also quite impressive; very fluid and smooth. Music is Life The Jet S8000 also has the familiar music player found in most Samsung devices, only its version had a bit of a face lift. Aside from having new icons for the menu, the album art view in Now Playing mode has also been enhanced. It still has all the basic features such as track filtering and automatic playlist generation. Although it has a new 5.1 channel feature that obviously tries to emulate a 5.1 channel audio output, one criticism with the music player is that it doesn’t allow users to manually control the equalizer for a more customized sound output. Also present is an FM radio with RDS support. Aside from the basic radio features such as station auto save and music recognition, an impressive function of the S8000’s radio is its ability to record songs directly from the FM station and save it to the mobile’s memory. Photos and Videos The S8000’s camera is in no way cutting edge. Nonetheless, its 5-Megapixel snapper is still able to capture good quality photos (maximum is 2592 x 1944 pixels) as it has added features such as geo-tagging, wide dynamic range, and smile, face, & blink detection, along with the basic autofocus function and LED flash. Users can also record D1 quality videos (720 x 480-pixel resolution) at 30fps. When it comes to viewing these videos, the S8000’s video player is also very handy as it too is optimized for touch. XviD and DivX video support is also on board.
