Bobs Place Hosts Inaugural Chefs Table Event

Local Breast Cancer Organization is First to Benefit from Monthly Dining Experience and Fundraising Event.

Bob’s Place Restaurant has announced that it will kick off its monthly Chef’s Table event, starting in October. Each month, Bob’s Place will donate a percentage of sales from diners participating in the Chef’s Table event to a local non-profit organization. On Wednesday, October 21st, Giving Inspiration, Fighting Together (GIFT), a local non-profit breast cancer support group, will be the first organization to take part in the Chef’s Table event. Bob Manning, Owner, Bob’s Place, has a special connection with the organization. GIFT Co-Founder Jayne Clark, a Queens resident and a breast cancer survivor, first met Mr. Manning 23 years ago when she worked as a concierge in his building. They soon became good friends. In addition, Ms. Clark has been a longtime customer at Mr. Manning’s restaurant, even when it was still called Gebhardt’s. Over the years, Bob’s Place has made many in-kind donations to GIFT at their events. For the annual Fall Fashion Festival, Bob’s Place sponsored the gift bags and generously donated $12,000 in gift certificates for the take-home goodie bags that were given to everyone in attendance. “We are very pleased to support GIFT with this month’s Chef’s Table event and to recognize their charitable efforts,” Mr. Manning said. “This Chef’s Table event is a unique way for charitable groups to raise money for a good cause, while enjoying some of the fabulous dishes that we offer.” In addition to the restaurant’s regular dinner service, beginning with the October 21st Chef’s Table event, each month, Bob’s Place Executive Chef Jeff Eutsler will prepare an elegant dinner featuring specialties just for the evening. The full-course meals, paired with wine, will be made available to customers at a fixed price ranging from $50 - $75 per person. The Chef will engage patrons and explain the motivation and how he prepared the menu items. He will be joined by Bob’s Place General Manager Gabriel Moroianu, a certified sommelier, who will explain the wine pairings. The Chef’s Table will be available by reservation only and will begin at 6:30 p.m. on the date chosen each month. Mr. Eutsler has prepared a special menu for the inaugural Chef’s Table event featuring a seven-course meal paired with seven wines. These offerings include: ● French chopped heirloom greens with local tomatoes, shallots, pine nuts, calamatta olives, sweet peppers, beans and shaved goat cheese in a white balsamic and virgin olive oil dressing. ● Long Island Duckling dumplings with sage duck consommé and vegetable confetti. ● Grilled Alaskan king salmon pallard with melted leeks and smoked paprika-infused mustard seed glaçage. ● Butter poached jumbo shrimp with avocado mousse in a shredded filo nest. ● Lime granite with pickle watermelon (intermezzo). ● Grilled medallion of filet mignon with vidalia onion rings, shredded portabella mushroom, new potato and edamame hash with a Tennessee bourbon demi-glaze ● Raspberry and mango crepe with rosewater ice cream and gingersnap cream anglaise. “We specialize in New American cuisine, in which we put an international twist on traditional American dishes,” Mr. Eutsler said. “Our style of New American cuisine will continue to have Asian and Mediterranean overtones. Each dish is carefully prepared and presented, and consists of layered ingredients, flavors and textures.” “When you see the name of the restaurant, you see an ordinary name and you think it’s an ordinary restaurant with ordinary food,” Mr. Manning added. “Here at Bob’s Place, the food is anything but ordinary. Our sumptuous food and top-notch service make the Chef’s Table event something worthwhile to attend.” The restaurant is located at 230 Jericho Turnpike in Floral Park.
