Clark Atlanta University Welcomes U.S. Department of State

Students hold informational session for U.S. Department of State alumni recruitment

Atlanta, GA— The U.S. Department of State and EdVenture Partners have invited four universities to participate in the U.S Department of State University Alumni Outreach Program. Clark Atlanta University (CAU) was chosen to partake in this endeavor, giving the students a hands-on opportunity to put their marketing skills to work. The campaign is geared toward second and third career professionals as well as school alumni.  Ultimately, the students want the target market to consider a diplomatic career with the U.S. Department of State and register for the Foreign Service Officer Test (FSOT) at careers.state.gov/CATL.      In efforts to continue a recruitment and awareness campaign for the U.S. Department of State, CAU students will host an informational dinner on Thursday, April 9, 2009 on campus in the Thomas Cole Science Research Center at 6:30 PM. Scheduled to speak is Mr. Paul Rowe, Diplomat in Residence, U.S Department of State. This is a great opportunity to learn more about career opportunities, as well as a chance to network with recruiters serving the Atlanta area. The Department, headquartered in Washington D.C maintains diplomatic relations with foreign countries. The U.S. Department of State manages over 265 diplomatic and consular posts around the world, including embassies, consulates and missions. The U.S. Department of State provides equal opportunity employment and offers a wide variety of benefits. For careers in the Foreign Service, the U.S. Department of State has a specific hiring process that begins with taking and passing the Foreign Service Officer Test. Professionals who are U.S. citizens with any background or area of expertise can apply their skills and knowledge to a diplomatic career.  For more information, please visit careers.state.gov/CATL. The information session held on April 9, 2009 from 6:30 PM- 8:00 PM will be the first of events to be implemented on the CAU campus for the U.S. Department of State Alumni Outreach Program for Spring 2009.
