Athletic Scholarships are a valuable means to provide education for our youth. In this day and age of a highly competitive environment, parents and players strive to find avenues to “stand-out” in the crowd.
Exposure is the key to gain coveted scholarships available for both Girl’s and Boy’s Basketball. Basketball camps serve to enhance player skills through fundamentals, coaching and a competitive environment to challenge players to a higher level of play. Most importantly, exposure camps provide a means for players to “showcase” their talents and skills. Attending an exposure camp allows college coaches to observe first-hand the abilities and potential of a player.
One of the premier camps in the country for both boy’s and girl’s basketball is the Rick Bolus
High Potential “Blue-Chip Basketball Camp®. This summer marks the 30th year Rick Bolus has conducted exposure basketball camps. Since 1980, almost 30,000 middle school and high school players have attended his camps. Former campers have included several McDonald’s All-Americans and numerous all-staters. Countless players have received basketball scholarships as a result of attending Bolus’ camps. College coaches nationwide over the years have attended his camps to scout the talent. Bolus sends out an internet camp report that reaches the 2,000 college coaches throughout the U.S.
Besides playing games, all campers participate in fundamental station work, team practices, contests, mini-clinics and listening to academic and basketball speakers.
Players interested in attending his camps this summer at Georgetown College in Georgetown (KY) can go to his web page at http://www.basketball-camp.net for further information. Dates for boys’ camps are June 28-July 2 and July 12-16. The girls’ showcase is July 17-18.
