Team BDP, which will specialise in integrated B2B and consumer social marketing and engagement PR programmes, will be led by former GWR Group (now Global Radio) Media Relations Director Susann Jerry.
The new division will draw on the creative, technical and content production talent base across the BDP Group, which includes the award-winning digital creative agency Atticmedia, the leading urban youth publisher RWD and the learning and training and development consultancies BDP learning and Skill Boosters.
By harnessing the Group’s rich social and digital media resources, the agency will develop cost effective and creative marketing strategies for major brands and clients, allowing them to achieve even greater impact at a time when many marketing budgets are either under review, leaner or are being diverted into new mediums.
Announcing the division, BDP Media Group CEO Bryan De’Ath said: “Our people sit at the forefront of social learning, pedagogy, change and communication programmes through the deployment of pioneering digital marketing communications.
“The formation of Team BDP as a new client facing division allows us to add strategic marketing communications to our portfolio via a new breed of agency which combines communication skills with research and development, technology prowess, creative cross platform digital content and business acumen.
“This approach allows us to create and implement social marketing and communications programmes which engage hard to reach consumers and niche audiences with complex, difficult and often life changing messages.
“This powerful mix allows for the most compelling creative solution or approach, which in turn helps brands, organisations and services offer something of real value to their customers at a time when budgets are stretched more and more thinly.”
As well as offering its own bouquet of marcomms, production and technical services, Team BDP will form strategic alliances with specialist agencies where relevant, and provide marketing, content and video production arms to agencies and organisations that don’t have in-house departments or their own production divisions to draw upon.
Current Team BDP projects include Outright 2009, the gay and lesbian research consortium led by QSoft Consulting and Globalpark, and the launch of the new parenting advice service and 1-2-1 virtual contact centre Dads Space (www.dads-space.com) which is part of the Government’s Parent Know How initiative.
Susann Jerry started her career as a journalist for United Newspapers before moving into corporate communications at BBC-tv, BSB, BBC Radio 3 and Classic FM. When Classic FM was bought by GWR Group (now Global Radio) she was appointed Group Media Relations Director.
In 2002 she became Programme Director of The National Business Awards, sponsored by Orange and after a spell working overseas, most recently ran her own marketing communications consultancy, working with QSoft Consulting, owners of the Gaydar portfolio, the production and distribution indie Power, drama indie Shimmer Productions, the Cassie Partnership, Bridge London, the artisan bakery Outsider Tart and the BDP Media Group.
