Crown Business Communications, a leading communications agency, produced the Employment Summit hosted by Prime Minister Gordon Brown.
The summit took place on 12 January and was attended by the Secretaries of State for the Department of Work and Pensions, Department for Innovations, Universities and Skills and Business Enterprise and Regulatory Reform. It focused on the collaboration between the government and employers to tackle the jobs impact of the downturn and the need to prepare people for the skills, challenges, and opportunities of the upturn.
Crown was briefed to design the environment and produce the event – including delegate management - and they brought in Crystal Interactive to provide the interactive system.
The summit took place at the Science Museum in London and was attended by over 100 people including captains of industry, union leaders and representatives from the world of education and skills. It was moderated by Sir Leigh Lewis, permanent secretary for the DWP. At the summit, the Prime Minister pledged a £500million fund to help people back into work or work training over the next two years

I would like to thank you and your staff who have got just about every single detail of this meeting this morning right.” Said Lord Mandelson in his closing remarks, whilst addressing Leigh Lewis Permanent Secretary for the DWP.
