UNESCO is the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization which follows the objectives and actions outlined by its 188 member states. Two of UNESCO main programs in Latin America and the Caribbean are: -Education programs that attempt to rectify extreme poverty -Contribution by information and communication technologies to the development of education, science, culture and the building of a knowledge based society UNESCO serves poorer communities in Ecuador, encouraging development. UNESCO is striving to deliver greater resources and opportunities to these communities, depending on the country's economic status. Volunteers must be of age 22 or above with minimum education of Undergraduation. Volunteers with the following special skills are preferred for the placement:- Business Management Computers - MS Office Software Computers - Graphic Design Computers - Web Design Computers - Database Design Educational Games Computers - Network Administration Computers - General ProgrammingVolunteers can assist by doing following tasks:-At the head office in Quito, experienced volunteers are needed to develop organizational programming and to operate computer software and participate in office management.
