Red Bank’s west side has never been hotter, thanks to the addition of a business owner determined to bring beauty, art and entertainment together, in one creative space. No, it’s not just another trendy Red Bank Salon. Glen Goldbaum’s self-titled salon located on Bridge Avenue is so much more than that.
On the heels of their one year anniversary celebration, things have never looked better for the Bridge Avenue store front. Owner, master stylist and former Vidal Sassoon educator Glen Goldbaum, has brought charisma, charm and buckets of talent to Red Bank’s West Side.
Glen Goldbaum 72 is more than just a ‘salon’. In fact, you won’t even see the word ‘salon’ on any of Goldbaum’s marketing literature. Not to confuse you, it is indeed a salon per se, where beautiful cuts and color happen every day. But one look beyond the scissors reveals so much more.
In the short year Glen Goldbaum has opened its doors, the salon has played host to a myriad of celebratory and artistic events. Most recently, Goldbaum, staff and some 100 friends rocked out to live reggae music for an all night party celebrating the 1 year anniversary of Glen Goldbaum 72. Outside in their outdoor garden, attendees danced to the rhythmic sounds of reggae rock stars, ‘Random Test’. Inside, gourmet food was catered in by Barbara Gold, one of the area’s premier personal chef and food stylist.
The night was a perfect example of Goldbaum’s vision, not to have just another salon, but to utilize the ‘space’ for so much more. And he has. All of the events Goldbaum has hosted have been free to the public. This year, Island Def Jam recording artist Laura Warshauer entertained, along with local favorite Quincy Mumford. Just a short list of events compared to the roster of ‘creative nights’ Goldbaum plans to host in his new space.
Goldbaum has definitely set the bar high for the ‘wow’ factor for NJ salons. Goldbaum himself is a master stylist and a hands-on educator for emerging stylists, with over 25 years experience in Manhattan. He has compiled a team of the most talented stylists who are passionate about their work and passionate about the latest styles, trends and standards in the beauty industry.
