GENOCIDE AND THE RESPONSIBILITY TO PROTECT (R2P) IS THE TOPIC OF THE WORLD AFFAIRS FORUM PRESENTATION ON NOVEMBER 12, AT UCONN-STAMFORD Stamford, CT– Author Lane H. Montgomery and humanitarian Andrew Hannah will discuss Genocide and the Responsibility to Protect (R2P) at a World Affairs Forum presentation on November 12 at UCONN – Stamford.  Lane H. Montgomery is the author of Never Again, Again, Again…Genocide: Armenia, The Holocaust, Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Darfur.  Andrew Hannah, who has been instrumental in leading relief efforts in most of the complex humanitarian emergencies over the last 25 years, is principal of the Bridge Foundation, a small non-governmental group that provides humanitarian relief around the world. R2P – Responsibility to Protect – is a UN initiative that is gaining traction as a way to intercede when traditional governments fail to protect their citizens. Lane Montgomery asserts in her book, Never Again, Again, Again, that most people are simply unaware of the scope of genocide over the last century.  More that 70 million people have been systematically murdered in the past 100 years.  Most of the perpetrators responsible for those horrific killings have never been, and never will be, brought to justice.
