Cherry Hill, N.J. – Bruce Matez, will be part of a panel of family law and estate planning attorneys presenting lectures for the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education (njicle.com) on October 7, 2009. The seminar is entitled "Dealing with Life Insurance, Trusts and Special Situations in Divorce Proceedings". Bruce will discuss the issues that need to be considered by attorneys in negotiating life insurance provisions in a divorce settlement in order to ensure that your client’s family and loved ones are well provided for. Bruce will also be discussing issues such as; minors as beneficiaries of life insurance with the spouse as a trustee, drafting life insurance in a PMA or PSA consent order, negotiating and structuring life insurance to secure child support and alimony. Other panelists will discuss issues such as; filling out beneficiary forms properly, irrevocable beneficiary designations, recommended trust provisions, planning for a disabled child, terminally ill spouses and long-term nursing care for spouses. Bruce participated as panelist for this seminar on July 24, 2009 at NJICLE’s North CLEFest in Livingston, New Jersey.
“Bruce has a wealth of knowledge on the many aspects of family law and estate planning,” said Gary Borger, Esq. of Borger Jones Matez & Keeley-Cain, P.A. “He especially has a substantial understanding of life insurance issues and divorce negotiations in New Jersey, having handled divorces, settlements, child support and alimony settlements in Camden, Burlington and Gloucester counties for many years.
