English Lawyers in Spain Acted Illegally!

DeCotta McKenna and Santaf - one of the biggest cross-border law companies in Spain has acted fraudulently in order to try to scam a British resident in Spain out of his two houses in Torrox..

Senior Partner, Jon Sutton, of DeCotta McKenna and Santafé had a British court order translated into Spanish. He acted upon the translation, before it was stamped by the sworn translator, Barry True - and he is now facing the ultimate question; how could he act according to a Spanish translation of an English Court Order before it was translated? Especially since the wrong translation turned the case 180 degrees. How did Jon Sutton know that the translation would be twisted totally around, so he could use the translation to put Mr. Kirwan`s properties on a public auction? The English version of the Court order did not give him this option…In other words; Jon Sutton acted against the British Court Order…and 5 – 6 days later when the Spanish version was stamped and delivered…it backed up Jon Sutton’s actions. Amazing! Two hours before the public auction was to take place in Torrox Court on the 21st of January the Judge in Torrox annulled the auction on grounds of illegalities. Mr. Kirwan is naturally pleased that justice prevailed in the end but he expresses his concern about the fact that the first three options you will find when looking for English lawyers in Spain - on the British Embassy’s website – are: DeCotta McKenna and Santafé! Indeed a worrying fact. So if you have ever had a case going against you in a divorce case – translated and brought to Spain from the UK by DeCotta McKenna and Santafé….you might want to go through your translation again with a fine toothcomb!
