Saying thank you goes beyond a verbal expression after blessings are presented to the son of MMA fighter Scottie “The Dream” Weaver by local organization Ohio State Low Vision Clinic. With the count down beginning for the highly anticipated UVC 19 "Explosion", February 18, 2012 at the Ohio Expo Center, Scottie has devoted 100% of his sales received from apparel purchases to Ohio State School For The Blind Foundation.
In June of 2011, The Ohio State Low Vision Clinic gifted Byron Weaver with confidence and physical well-being through a donation of a prosthetic eye. The personal benefits of their gift inspired Scottie, dedicated father of the recipient to pay his blessing forward. Utilizing the support of local fans gained from his accomplishments during his MMA career and heart shown towards his devotion to Byron, Scottie Weaver’s donation will benefit other children whom also attend The Ohio State School For The Blind through funding for after-school activities, club and sports programs. Scottie explains:
“I feel that if everybody who buys a ticket from me, buys a tee shirt ,we will help a few kids out and to me that is a beautiful thing. To see another child smile the way mine did when he got it is a huge blessing and I'm just so glad I can use my fighting fame for something so positive.”
