Award-winning Broadcast Series Exploring Critical Issues Turns Spotlight On The Greening Of Society



The award-winning television series Exploring Critical Issues, conceived and hosted by Adelphi University President Dr. Robert A. Scott, returns this season with two new segments.

The award-winning television series Exploring Critical Issues, conceived and hosted by Adelphi University President Dr. Robert A. Scott, returns this season with two new segments.

“The ‘Greening’ of Society,” explores the dimensions of the term “greening” and its significance as a call to action for individuals, organizations, businesses, neighborhoods, and government in safeguarding the future.  Joining Dr. Scott for this hour-long program to air the week of October 17th and the week of October 24th are:  Long Island Compost President and CEO Charles Vigliotti, Sustainable Long Island Executive Director Sarah Landsdale, Vision Long Island Executive Director Eric Alexander, and Regional Plan Association Vice President Chris Jones.

“This program will consider private and public responsibilities, as well as institutional and regulatory obligations in sustaining the health of our planet,” said Dr. Scott.  “This is a group of panelists that I know will provide lively and engaging discussion.”

Exploring Critical Issues – an hour-long program seen by over five million households – is the recipient of three Telly Awards, the cable equivalent of the Emmy.  

“The ‘Greening’ of Society” airs the week of October 17 and the week of October 24, 2010 on Cablevision, channel 29; and Verizon FiOS, channel 296, as follows:  Sundays at 7:30 a.m. and 10:30 p.m.; Tuesdays at 2:00 p.m. and Thursdays at 9:00 p.m.  The Telecare program can be viewed simultaneously through the Internet at www.telecaretv.org.

The second program in the fall line-up is “Long Island Economic Development and the Role of the Long Island Association” with panelists exploring the region’s future as a successful place to live, work, and do business.

Dr. Robert A.
