Eco/Pictures Takes Lead Role in Green Filmmaking Beverly Hills, CA (February 25, 2009) -- One Los Angeles filmmaker has accepted her call to change the face of modern filmmaking.  Eco/Pictures, founded by Tiffany Calhoun, is a feature film distribution company specializing in environmentally-friendly films.  Eco/Pictures’ mission is to spread the ‘go green’ message through positive public influence and in turn give back the future of our planet. Eco/Pictures primary business function is to attain commercially competitive films that strive to follow the guidelines of the Environmental Media Association. “It is a noble act to take the time to be environmentally cautious.  I hope that in ten years, green film sets will be the norm as a result of education and individual desire to make a difference,” says Calhoun.   Tiffany Calhoun has lived an eco-chic lifestyle since moving to Los Angeles in 1993 from Springfield, Missouri to study acting.  One year later she became a devout vegetarian and began her interest in animal rights and the environment.  After working in the independent film business since 1996, Calhoun clearly saw an unfulfilled niche in Hollywood’s influential power structure.  She then found inspiration to create Eco/Pictures after her mother’s unwavering encouragement to work hard, give back, and make a difference.   “The launch of Eco/Pictures is revolutionary.  It’s not just about the talk.  It’s about the walk.  It’s about setting a new eco-ethical standard in Hollywood for everyone to strive towards.”  Eco/Pictures is dedicated to their core mission and plans to spread the ‘go green’ message by educating and giving back with advertising, public relations, grassroots promotions, corporate/charity alliances, celebrity endorsements, and product placements.   Calhoun hopes that seeing the Eco/Pictures logo at the beginning of a film will become an instant awareness tool.  “It will remind people that business and film can be Eco Chic.”  Calhoun adds, “If a feature film can be environmentally friendly, then hopefully it will inspire people to make small changes in their own lives too.” For more information on Eco/Pictures or Tiffany Calhoun, please contact My Productions’ Lauren McCawley at 615-557-2270 or lmccawley@gmail.com. #      #       # About Tiffany Calhoun Tiffany Calhoun, the creative force behind Eco/Pictures, began her illustrious filmmaking career by assisting her mother in the independent film, Winding Roads (1997), at the age of 17.  Calhoun learned her craft under the tutelage of her mother, film producer and financier Gloria Blisard Calhoun, who inspired her to tell stores as well as be involved in all parts of a film project.
