Adoption Agency fosters Up Holiday Cheer With Annual Toy Drive

Concept 7s annual foster families holiday toy drive receives participation from two local companies, Cardflex Financial Services and Discount Office Services.

December is a bustling month filled with Christmas shopping, decorating, holiday parties and all-out preparation for the New Year. While many people are consumed solely with thoughts of what is going to be under their Christmas tree, Concept 7 reminds us about those children who normally don’t get the presents on their Christmas wish list.

That is why Concept 7, a foster family and adoption agency with locations in the city of Orange, Ontario, and Commerce, is hosting their traditional foster families’ holiday toy drive. Working with kids who come from abusive and neglectful homes, Concept 7 enables anyone who wants to participate to sponsor a foster child with either an unwrapped gift selected from the child’s wish list or a monetary donation.

Employees at two local Orange County companies, Cardflex Financial Services in Costa Mesa and Discount Office Services in Irvine, have stepped up to participate in the toy drive, and hope that their gifts help make foster children’s Christmas dreams come true. Concept 7 is an organization that is particularly close to Cardflex’s heart, due to the fact that one of their employees, Kenny Brooks, serves on the Board of Directors for the organization. Brooks is responsible for rallying those at Cardflex together to participate in the toy drive. Discount employees heard about the toy drive through Cardflex employee Deanna Shiley and immediately signed up to sponsor some children.

Concept 7 aims to provide healing programs for abused and neglected children and their families in the foster care system. The foundation of all of their programs rests on the 7 concepts of rescue, recognition, relationship, responsibility, respect, resolution and renewal. Every year, they are able to provide services to over 1,500 youth and families, and their annual toy drive is a great way of rallying the Orange County community together to make a difference in a child’s life this Christmas.
