Muddy Fun Mess at Miller Family YMCA Kids Mud Run

NEWBURY PARK, CALIF.--The Miller Family YMCA will host a free Kids Mud Run, Sunday, October 24 at 10:00 a.m. at the Dos Vientos Community Park (4801 Borchard Rd., Newbury Park). The event coincides with the Conejo Valley Halloween Mud Run at the park that is raising money for the Thousand Oaks Teen Center.

   The YMCA Kids Mud Run is for children age 10 years and under. It includes a mini mud run obstacle course that features a small mud pit, a tunnel and Halloween surprises. "The event is designed for kids to get active, have fun and get dirty," says Tarrik Daou, Miller YMCA aquatics and healthy lifestyles director.

   The Conejo Valley Halloween 5k and 10k Mud Run starts at 8:00 a.m. and is for athletes age 10 and older. The courses feature mud pits, slides, hay bales and other obstacles that require participants to clime and crawl in mud. Proceeds for the 5k and 10k Mud Run go toward Thousand Oaks Teen Center youth activities.
