Brazil has an expressive position as the holder of largest mineral reserves in the world, such as niobium and tantalite and the country is the world’s 2nd largest producer of iron ore.

US$ 70 billion). Vale is the world´s largest producer of iron ore and pellets.
Brazil has also huge reserves of Gems. Brazil has a number of different gems, such as emerald, chrysoberyl, aquamarine, tourmalines, imperial topaz and amethyst. It is estimated that 40% of the Brazilian territory has crystalline rocks.
