Esporta Health Club Taunton is celebrating after being awarded four stars in Taunton Deane Borough Council’s food safety and hygiene scheme.
Launched last year, The Scores on the Door initiative publicises information on standards of hygiene in businesses serving food to allow consumers to make an informed choice of where to eat. The ratings from 0 to 5 are awarded following an unannounced inspection of the facility by environmental health officers.
Officers inspected 50 premises and Esporta Health Club Taunton was one of 28 that received a four or five star rating after being judged on its food handling practices, the condition of its kitchen and restaurant area including cleanliness, as well as its management systems.
“Esporta is passionate about serving the best quality ingredients, purchasing locally produced food and ensuring animal welfare standards are met. We’re also committed to the highest standards of hygiene and are delighted to receive a four star rating in the Scores on the Door scheme, which is testament to the hard work of the team at Esporta Health Club Taunton,” says Glenn Timms, Esporta’s Chief Executive Officer.
The four star rating will stay in place until the next inspection, which could be up to two years’ time.
