Henrys Farmers Market Opens New Digs in Santee

New Store on Mission Gorge Road to Offer an Upgraded Shopping Experience

SANTEE, CALIF. – East County residents better get their shopping lists ready. On Wednesday, Nov. 12, Henry’s Farmers Market will open its doors at a new, larger and upgraded location on Mission Gorge Road in Santee. The new Henry’s has been in the works for over one year and will be the first tenant of The Marketplace at Santee, a brand new shopping center on Mission Gorge Road. The larger, modernized store will feature expanded product selections in all departments as well as an increased organic produce selection. The new and larger Henry’s store is approximately 25,000 square feet. “We believe our customers will respond quite favorably to this beautiful new site,” said Santee Henry’s Store Director Mark Montejano. “With the added square footage, we are able to offer expanded selections of the fresh and healthy foods that Henry’s shoppers count on. Plus, the bright, airy space makes the entire shopping experience more enjoyable.” The re-opening of the Santee Henry’s Farmers Market is the first of a series of Henry’s store openings throughout Southern California over the next few months. The Escondido Henry’s Farmers Market expansion project is slated to be complete this December and a brand new Henry’s Farmers Market in Woodland Hills is scheduled to open its doors in early spring of 2009. Henry’s Farmers Market is inviting the community to celebrate the Santee store re-opening at Henry’s Barn Stormin’ Bash, a free event with special festivities planned at the new site from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on opening day. Neighbors will enjoy samples from Henry’s favorite vendors, a pumpkin pie recipe contest and live entertainment, including local bands and dance performances, face painting and balloons. The first 100 shoppers will receive a free Henry’s canvas bag full of healthy snacks. Santee Mayor Voepel will appear at the store for a ribbon cutting ceremony and community pancake breakfast with those proceeds to be donated to Connor’s Cause for Children. In addition, Henry’s Farmers Market will match pre-tax sales from its Grab & Give Food Drive at the new Santee location on opening day to donate to its annual holiday partnership with Father Joes Villages, which provides meals for needy families in Southern California. Father Joe Carroll himself will be in attendance at the ribbon cutting ceremony. The old Henry’s store in Santee will be closing its doors at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 11 to prepare for the new store’s grand opening event the following morning. The new Henry’s Farmers Market will be located at 9361 Mission Gorge Road. Regular store hours will be from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
