IntraTech Capital, Jatropha plant could be solution to airlines woes.
According to recent reports by sources close to “IntraTech Capitalâ€, a poisonous plant called Jatropha is being hailed as the solution to supplying the airline industry with bio-fuels. After extensive testing by various airlines, using Jatropha as a bio-fuel could happen within a decade.
“IntraTech Capital†sees that this would be a much-needed viable alternative to what is currently being used [Kerosene].
A senior economist at “IntraTech Capital†reportedly commented on the possible effects of Jatropha as a replacement for bio-fuels. According to the “Intratech Capital†sources the reason Jatropha is being hailed as a plausible solution to biofuel supply is that it can be cultivated on marginal land; land that will not impact farming activities. The plant does not need much rainfall and it would not be in competition with other food crops.
A spokesperson for “IntraTech Capital†apparently stated that, as it can be cultivated on land which doesn’t compete with food farming land, it would in no way encourage the major problem of deforestation.
The “IntraTech Capital†economist went on to add that if this new fuel source does prove to be environmentally sustainable and not compete with food crops, the next hurdle would be ensuring that it was a cost effective option; For Jatropha to be truly viable, it would need to be farmed in a way that would make it competitive to the current Kerosene source.
The reports by “IntraTech Capital†revealed that while some experts are still concerned with the impact of growing large amounts of Jatropha, even they agree that if you can grow the crop on marginal land without impacting food production then it’s a solution worth further investigation.
