Italian international believes that in the first part of the season his team failed because they believed that most of the games will be won beforehand. Reality proved, however, that to catch up with FC Barcelona they will need to start playing like a team.
Arrival of Juande Ramos brought the needed change. Recent win vs. Betis (6-1) showed that not only are they capable of maintaining thier winning streak but also produce some beutiful football in the process.
On the other hand their rivals from Barcelona lost the derby in a home match vs. Espanyol and the gap is now reduced to 7 points. Reportedly referee influenced the course of the match by sending off Barcelona midfielder Keita and the guests took the opportunity and scored 2 goals. And it was no other than Ivan de la Pena, former Barca player tho scored both goals.
Italian defender has nothing but words of praise for Espanyol team and was quoted saying "They took a perfect game and enabled us to close in on FC Barcelona, but I still think Real needs to continue working hard and take every game like it`s the last."
