TCEQ Rejects CLWSC Water Rate Notification To Customers

September 9th – The CEWR received feedback that the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) had rejected the notification sent by CLWSC to its customers concerning a proposed 71% rate hike. It is expected that this rejection will require revision and full redistribution of the original notification.

A contact at TCEQ Administrative Audit, indicated that they had been assigned to conduct the administrative review of the Canyon Lake Water Service Company rate filing.  It was also pointed out that there will be a complete technical review of the filing.

The CEWR was advised that its petition (in its present form) will be accepted by TCEQ, despite a pending revision of CLWSC’s August 27th notification.  The Coalition is set to proceed with obtaining those signatures, as the petition format remains consistent with the water rate filing document of August 27, 2010.

It is likely that CLWSC will have to delay implementation of their proposed increases as new customer notification letters await distribution.
