Film Classics Productions, the team behind the award-winning "Four Minutes Till the End", has returned to the 48 Hour Film Project for its latest film, "Fantasy, Inc".
For "Fantasy, Inc.", director Bryan Ortiz has reunited with Rick Carrillo and Nikki Young, two of the stars of "Four Minutes Till the End" (winner of five awards in the 2008 San Antonio 48 Hour Film Project, including Best Film, and an official selection of the Short Film Corner at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival), to tell the story of a lonely young man (Steven Starr) who approaches a company that offers to replace his life with a new fantasy life. Young serves as the film's producer, while Carrillo appears in the film as one of the company's top salesmen; the cast also includes Tess Rodriguez, Paul Scofield, James Hartz, and Paul Atkins.
“One of the great things about the 48 Hour Film Project is how it challenges you to step outside your comfort zone and try new ideas," says Ortiz. "'Fantasy' is a genre we really haven't worked in before, so when we drew that genre, we saw it as an opportunity to try something completely different from Four Minutes Till the End and stretch ourselves creatively.”
"Fantasy, Inc." will premiere at the 48 Hour Film Project's San Antonio screenings on Wednesday, August 19, as part of Screening Group B. Tickets are only $10; for reservations, please visit www.drafthouse.com/westlakes.
