1. WiFi by True Move
In cooperation with True, Samitivej Hospital has installed WiFi by True Move access points throughout the hospital. Patients and visitors can now have easily access to the Internet wherever they are in the hospital premise. Hospital staff members can also retrieve patients’ record easily using their notebook computer or PDA.
2. IP Phone & Wireless Phone Project
Thanks to industry-leader Cisco, Samitivej Hospital has implemented the Messaging and Interactive Multimedia system. The new system will free up the hospital staff members’ time as the new system helps make them connected seamlessly via several services as follows:
• Virtual Meeting
The virtual meeting system enables the hospital to share interpreter service when needed. Foreign patients will find it even more convenient to talk to the doctor, through interpreter although the interpreter is not physically present in the hospital. This also assures patients that they will receive prompt medical service.
• Patient Discharge
When patients are going home, nurse will click a button in the system. The intelligent system will send messages to all concerned departments to calculate expenses and prepare medicines and other necessities. Once all departments complete their works, they all report to the system which will inform the nurse who will then tell the patients to clear their bills, pick up medicine and go home.
• Services Request
Patients can pick from the provided menu what they need, such as blankets, drinking water, or food. The system will then alert the concerned department for further process. Hospital staff can also check whether patients need any help and if their requests are completed.
• Patient Schedule Alert
The hospital’s system will alert the patients in advance of some specific check-up schedule, such as X-Ray and blood test, as well as for after treatment monitoring.
• Emergency Service
When there is an emergency patient, the hospital staff can simply click on the provided menu. The system will then alert all concerned departments and get them ready for the case.
3. OPD Patients Queuing Management System
Samitivej, in cooperation with Score Solution, has installed a new queuing management system to care to the increasing number of OPD patients. The efficient system will shorten queuing time and eliminate repetition and redundancy. The system will also effectively control and process all the data with consideration to their specific conditions. Each service lane can be switched to the first-in-first-out, load balance and manual system as desired. The work flow accuracy is assured. This system also connects to other systems throughout the service chain. Service information is also collected for future analysis and service improvement.
4. Infotainment
Infotainment is a unique entertaining and informative services that Samitivej developed and offers to make its customers’ stay at the hospital most enjoyable. Services offered include:
4.1 Hospital and medical services
• Health Clinics & Center
This service provides all information about the hospital, including the background, medical team specialization, services by different units and news from the hospital
• Medical Service
A digitalized information service that supports general practitioners in diagnosis, such as X-Ray and ultrasound information. General practitioners can also present these information to the patients or families to explain more about the patients’ symptoms. For the security and ethical reasons, the system will ask users for user name and password every time an information request is made through the system.
• Health Guide
This service is a collection of health care articles and video provided by Samitivej’s specialists. The video clips are those earlier aired in the Love & Care program on Channel 5 every Thursdays.
• Patient Service
In patients will have easy access to various medical advices, such as advices on what they should do while staying in the hospital, hospital rules and patients’ rights.
4.2 Entertainment and General Information
• Music on Demand
Through cooperation with Grammy, patients will enjoy more than 10,000 songs from a long list of Grammy Music, including music video, or comprehensive music therapy list
• Travel and Tourism Information
Thanks to partnership with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Samitivej’s system is linked directly to TAT’s updated travel and activities, enabling the foreign patients and families to keep up with the latest tourism news and activities.

Patients will be able to have easy access to the Internet, check emails, read news or search for the desired information

Both public TV and cable TV programs are available
• Online Games
Through cooperation with NC True, Flash games and Pop Cap games are available
