A man, who has experienced acute sexual arousal for over 30 days after participating in a clinical trial of a new slimming product, is suing the Suisse manufacturer for 1 million Suisse francs (US$912,000).
In a writ presented in Geneva, the Norwegian man, is seeking damages for emotional distress, mental suffering, discomfort and embarrassment caused by what is known in medical terms as “priapism”. He further claims he is unable to work because of lack of concentration.
“Contrary to popular belief, it is possible to have too much of a good thing” the filing states.
The man alleges he participated in an Internet controlled worldwide trial for “SensaSlim” an intra oral spray designed to promote weight loss. He was instructed to spray SensaSlim into his mouth before meals, and told that the natural formulation desensitised the taste buds on the tongue and fooled the brain into a feeling of fullness. He states whilst he did lose weight, complications arose when he and his partner tried spraying SensaSlim onto his sexual organ, believing it may desensitise and prolong his arousal.
Medical experts explain that the corpora cavernosa, turned erectile tissue, expanse by blood that flows into it and fills the empty spaces. This blood is temporarily trapped in the male member by the constriction of blood vessels that would normally allow it to flow out. The erect male member returns to its flaccid state when the arteries relax and begin to contract. It is claimed the desensitising ingredients in SensaSlim have stopped the arteries relaxing and caused the permanent state of arousal.
The manufacturers of SensaSlim have vowed do defend the law suit stating the man misused the product for purposes which it is not designed and did not follow the directions correctly. A spokesman for the company said, “his action will not stand up in court”.
