The lecture, entitled "Early Portland and Japanese Immigration" will be given by Gary Higashi from the Oregon Nikkei Legacy Center as part of the Friends of History's celebration of the historical contributions of Asian and Pacific Islanders in the United States and its associated territories.
Starting in the early 1800s and continuing through present times, Asian and Pacific immigrants have played an important role in the development of the United States, making vital contributions which helped to shape American society and technology. Wells Fargo History Museum is a proud partner of this lecture.
