Drifting experience - how to get a car sideways!

Drifting is the fine art of executing a tight turn on a racetrack or skid pan while your car is partially sideways.. www.drivingexperiences.com explains this new and exciting hobby!

Drifting experiences explained:

As your vehicle enters a turn, you turn the steering wheel tight into the corner and accelerate until the back of your vehicle starts to drift out behind you.  You then turn the steering wheel in the opposite direction to control the drift of your car and stabilize the angle of the vehicle.  With a little practice in both initiating and controlling the drift, you can navigate your vehicle around a corner at a higher rate of speed then you would have otherwise been able to do.  This is an incredibly thrilling experience as you fight to maintain control of the car and prevent it from spinning out.

Local race facilities now offer a drifting experience http://www.drivingexperiences.com/drifting to consumers so they can experience the thrill of this racing maneuver for themselves.  You’ve probably experienced something similar if your vehicle has ever accelerated on a patch of ice and begun to spin out.  Instinct sets in and you correct your course.  Now imagine if you were doing this intentionally and allowed to drive for a stretch with your vehicle barely under control.

Your drifting instructor will give you a safety briefing and teach you some of the basic concepts of the controlled drift.  Steering techniques, braking, acceleration and clutching are all covered before you head out to the track.  You’ll also be introduced to some specialized drifting terms such as the “feint drift” and “Choku-Dori”.  If you’ve ever been tempted to use your emergency brake to spin out your vehicle, they’ll teach you how to do that properly as well.

As part of your drift experience http://www.drivingexperiences.com/drifting the instructor will take you out on the track and teach you how to get your vehicle sideways to navigate the turn.  Once they’re confident you have the hang of it, you will start out on a small section of track.  Don’t be too concerned if you don’t get the hang of it on your first attempt.  After a few practice runs you should be able to drift the facility’s vehicle around the corner.  As you improve your performance, the instructor will allow you to perform longer turns until your handling the drift like a pro at http://www.drivingexperiences.com .
