Adam Carolla Hammers HBO

Adam Carolla's film "The Hammer" is making a hit on HBO.

(Los Angeles, CA) - JoeDolanPR - Gracing the television screens of the country with his personally funded effort, telling the tale of underrated cement fisted former Golden Glove boxer Jerry Ferro; Adam Carolla has found a great home on HBO.  From the streets of North Hollywood, where much of the movie shows to have been shot, The Hammer, Adam’s top-notch independent release, is playing over and over on HBO throughout the past month. The plot takes general contractor and boxing instructor Jerry Ferro, played by Carolla himself, on an unexpected trip in life, back into the ring after living through years of inner regret. Ferro challenges younger and more physically fit boxers for placement on the US Olympic Boxing Team and faces a decision that fully explains the heart of a true champion. The Hammer is riddled with Carolla’s key comedic timing, offering hilarious visual humor that isn’t hard to miss and showcases Carolla’s ability to write, act and entertain while simply being the person fans have come to know an love. Adam doesn’t step far outside of  being himself to play this role. It’s true; Carolla was a former boxing instructor and Golden Gloves boxer, did live within the constraints of a contractor’s paycheck and did spend his time with some of the actual characters portrayed in the film. The Hammer also shares a comedic exposition of the reality of the world that developed the radio and television talent Carolla has become in life. The film details a lot of the things Adam has talked about on his daily podcast as well as his former morning radio show on the failed CBS talk FM station in Los Angeles. Not unlike the injected humor Steve Martin uses to poke fun at the reality of Hollywood entertainment, The Hammer exposes life in the San Fernando Valley with spoofs on real life situations like Mexican road side flower vendors, for instance. A reality of life in the valley where the film is shot. Carolla’s podcast, still a number one feature since its first release in iTunes, and now past it’s one-hundredth episode, often mentions the film and Adam’s trials in getting it to the masses. With no budget available for promotion, Adam’s fans have spread the word of the film and spurred its move from overnight viewing on Showtime to Prime Time slots on HBO repeatedly. A truth in the words that Carolla has a worldwide fan base that supports his every move, and has proven it over and over again. In the world of inherited Hollywood hot-shot status, Carolla tells listeners that he is a carpet cleaning, football playing carpenter with a 1.4 GPA but has proven that someone who has a quality concept and a wealth of personal belief can reach the tops in the entertainment world.
