Praying Children Series Unveiled

Restored Traditions is now providing the never-before-seen series "In Reverence" by internationally recognized artist Jacquelyn Kammerer Cattaneo.

Restored Traditions, the largest Catholic Art Gallery online, is happy to announce that they are now providing the never-before-seen series "In Reverence" by internationally recognized artist Jacquelyn Kammerer Cattaneo (PSA, PSWC, APSC), of Gallup NM.  Limited edition, signed reproduction prints are now available of these 21 exquisite images.  Originally painted as soft pastels, they personify the tranquility of a child's prayer to God.  The collection portrays the innocence of children, and transports the viewer to a place of peace, faith, and innocence.  It serves as a reminder of what there is in each of us. When recently asked why she painted praying children, Cattaneo explained that children are hope.  "They are our future, and have an honesty, wisdom, and genuineness about them.  The paintings are actually of 'real kids'.  I want them to share their message of hope, love, beauty, tenderness and humor in today's world". Cattaneo strongly believes that we are all here to help others, and she intends to share her success from this series with children in a way that is being determined.  Her mother, with whom she was very close, was raised in orphanages and foster homes most of her childhood.  She wanted no child to feel left out or abused.  Cattaneo learned to love children through her, and is one of the reasons she started painting children.  She began painting the series when faced with the fact that her mother was dying.  Also, in 1967, she started Gallup's first art classes in her teaching studio, recognizing the importance of children having the opportunity to learn art.   Cattaneo's art is acclaimed worldwide and collected by patrons throughout the United States.  She has received numerous awards, has earned a signature membership in The Pastel Society of America (PSA), was awarded permanent certification by The American Portrait Society (APSC) in 1985, and holds a double membership in the Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club since 1984.  Her painting has taken her to many parts of the world as an invited art ambassador, including Russia, the Netherlands, Turkey, Greece, Spain, Israel, Egypt, Italy, Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay, and Nova Scotia Maritime Islands. In addition to painting award-winning landscape scenes and numerous portraits which capture the inner essence of the person, Cattaneo's work also includes having been commissioned to do portraits of Mother Teresa and St. Katharine Drexel.  She is currently working on a series of mission church paintings. Restored Traditions is the largest Catholic Art Gallery online.  They started by salvaging religious goods, and have grown into a thriving company, specializing in archival Catholic art prints using the Giclee professional printing process.  Their focus is on the timeless religious artwork from some of the master painters.  Cattaneo's series "In Reverence" can be seen on their website www.restoredtraditions.com under the category of "Living Artists".  For more information, please contact Restored Traditions via their website or at (785) 321-1278 in St. Marys, Kan.
