The French plastics industry is 2nd in Europe in turnover, bringing in EUR 31 billion each year. At this year's edition of the NPE trade show in Chicago from June 22 to 26, nine companies will represent the country's expertise in plastics at the France Plastics Pavilion at booth W130038. The pavilion will also host a group of companies from the French plastics industry cluster, Plastipolis.
AGP Developpement is a group of three companies striving to provide innovative solutions in the field of molds. Collomb Mécanique provides molds for the high productivity sector. JP Grosfilley designs and manufactures molds used with multi-injection as well as with numerical technology control. Georges Pernoud specializes in molds used for technical and complex parts.
Créagif Biopolymères is an R&D organization specialized in bioplastics formulations that offer the same mechanical characteristics as the traditionally petroleum based products. Because bioplastics formulations originally come from plant sources, they offer a fast degradation capacity that is clearly superior to that of petroleum based plastics. Bioplastics allow the firm to integrate a truly environmental approach.
MIHB (Moulages Industriels du Haut Bugey) is specialized in the engineering and manufacture of technical plastics. The company's aim is to continue its growth based on a tradition of innovation, flexibility, cost control, and excellence in the mastery of its technological processes. MIHB's secondary objective is to partner with firms to help continuously improve skill and ability, maintain a high focus on quality, as well as perfect the control of its processes and technologies all while remaining competitive and high-performance focused.
Millet-Marius: Established in 1957, and located in both France and the United States, Millet designs and manufactures molding parts for industry. Its savoir-faire emphasizes quality with attention to the different existing norms, as well as providing an increase of control during conception. Millet’s combination of injection molding and blow molding extrusion knowledge is the key factor to developing the right plastic parts for customer needs. Millet can tailor solutions for a wide range of industries including the food, packaging, and kitchen appliance industries.
Prosys: For over 15 years, Prosys has closely collaborated with its customers in order to turn concepts into reality. As an industry leader in automated assembly and coilwinding solutions, the company has designed, manufactured, and installed complete prototype machinery in many global corporations within the automotive, appliance, electronics, and telecommunications industries. The production lines produced are considered "second to none" within the automation industry.
Quadraxis is a software developer. Its software aims to help create 3-D content for the entertainment, industry, and marketing-multimedia sectors. The Quadraxis Thermo3D Suite meets the needs of companies working in the plastics industry who need to create and manufacture decorative elements, such as labels, using not only rich graphics but a maximum surface area on the object and can be applied to the fields of thermoforming, IML/IMD, shrink and stretch sleeves, and metal cans and boxes.
Rouxel serves to answer client demands in terms of providing technical solutions to improve quality and performance in the manufacture of high-quality plastic injection molds for the packaging industry. The products are designed with a focus on longevity and production cycle time performance, in addition the parts are designed for easy interchangeability for the sake of preventative maintenance.
SCC (Sciences Computers Consultants) develops numerical simulation software (CFD Software) to aid in product development for the extrusion, mixing, casting, and heating processes. Its solutions are designed for implementation in R&D centers as well as production support to help industrial firms better anticipate the market's evolution. The company also specializes in material transformation to offer firms immediate, efficient, and sustainable solutions for any recurring problems.
SISE: Established 1971 and located close to Lyon and Geneva, in the French "Plastics Valley," SISE designs, manufactures, and sells a range of products mainly dedicated to the injection-molding plastics industry. The bulk of their activity is making temperature and process control systems. SISE produces a wide range of products including hot runner control systems, sequential molding control systems, water and oil mold temperature controllers, and production monitoring systems.
PLASTIPOLIS: Located in France’s "Plastics Valley," the association called Plastopolis is in charge of developing the plastics industry in the French regions of Rhône-Alpes and Franche-Comté. To date the association has 150 member companies, eight R&D centers, and other institutions. The group hopes to promote the dynamic image that is associated with French plastics companies as well as to push technological innovation by encouraging R&D, improving know-how, and creating partnerships. The group is also involved in the development of “smart” plastics.
