Davron Technologies, Inc. designed and manufactured an electrically heated batch oven to dry PTFE Powder. This drying oven has two independent chambers in one oven body with interior (usable) dimensions of 7’-0†wide x 7’-6†high x 5’-6’ deep per chamber with a maximum operating temperature of 450 degrees F.
The oven is constructed of 4†thick steel insulated walls with 16 gauge 304 mirror finished stainless steel interior and 304 16 gauge stainless steel sanitary finished exterior. The operating temperature range of the oven is 285 to 410 degrees F. Approximately 200 pounds of water is removed per cycle. This oven is designed to meet Class 100 Clean Room Requirements. Each corner of the batch oven is radius and polished smooth. Plenums and diverters within the chamber are seal welded at their seams, all seams are polished smooth. The floor of the oven slopes toward the door so that the water can be easily removed after cleaning, which is done after every batch.
Each chamber utilizes one (1) circulation fan, one (1) variable position exhaust damper, one (1) blower for make-up air, and one (1) electric heater. There are sixteen (16) thermocouples mounted within the two (2) batch oven chambers, eight (8) per chamber. Temperature can be monitored but not controlled at these sixteen (16) points. The chamber pressure is controlled between -4†w.c. to +2 w.c.â€.
The heated chamber is specifically designed to provide a horizontal airflow to the product during the entire drying process. The oven utilizes a PLC with operator touch screen for control.
