Florence de Dampierre talks about her new book: French Chic Learn “french chic” decorating at Oliver Wolcott Library in Litchfield, CT on February 12, from 7:00-8:00 p.m. with Florence de Dampierre. Florence is an author, interior designer and lecturer among other things. Raised in Paris, she currently resides in Manhattan and Litchfield County in an exquisite 18th century home. Her best selling book, The Best of Painted Furniture was published twenty years ago and is still in print today. Her other books include Chairs: a History which was published in 2006 and Decorator published in 1989. She has designed rooms for the French Designer Show House and maintains a select roster of personal clients. Florence has lectured at museums around the country and has curated shows at the Caramoor Museum in Katonah, NY. In 1992 she was included in Eleanor Lambert’s Best Dressed List as one of the twelve best dressed women in the world. Florence will discuss her new book, French Chic, which gives a peek into her home in Litchfield County while offering “chic” advice. A wine and cheese reception will follow the event. The Hickory Stick Bookshop will provide books for signing and sale. Space is limited. Registration is required.
