Gamblers At City Index Lose Again?

Bankers bookies falsely deny writing to a winning gambler in an effort to silence him

Bob Rothman is a Professional horseracing Punter and in 1987 Rothman won so money much off City Index they wrote to him closing his account. City Index now deny the letter ever existed and are threatening legal action to ban its publication as they feel it may tarnish their reputation as "bankers bookies" For the next 22 years the letter has been seen by countless individuals as Rothman promoted his professional horseracing tipping service using a copy of the letter and it's been in the public domain for many years after its contents were reported in numerous newspapers such as the article in Sunday Express June 3rd 1990 "Boookies ban gambler with Midas touch" It is also displayed on Rothman’s website www.horseracingpro.co.uk " Dear Bob, You have been awarded the ultimate accolade from City Index - namely that of having your account closed for being too clever for us" ... I hate having to pay out week after week, after week ... I herewith submit your final cheque in the sum of £21,153.75 duly enclosed" Signed Johnathan , Joint Managing Director Last week City Index apparently woke up to the fact that Rothman was circulating a copy of the letter and their Compliance department sprang into action denying they had ever written to Rothman, accused him of fraud in claiming the letter existed and threatened “ cease and desist” legal action. After various threats City Index may have dug themselves into a hole because the dispute has escalated all the way up City Index’s hierarchy and now rests with Michael Herron , legal counsel to City Index. Rothman has demanded an apology and City Index have so far been deafeningly silent. Rothman says "It's bad enough that bookmakers close your account when you win too much. It's shameful that they then attempt to deny having done that. It's criminal that they attempt to silence winners by falsely accusing them of fraud! You would have thought after the recent mess the banks got us into that financial institutions would start to learn they cannot bully the British public anymore?"
