The Zoey Bleu Foundation is an organization set up to assist families with children fighting cancer. Donating money to allow a parent to take time off from their job while trying to process the most difficult news a parent can bare. By giving them financial freedom a parent can take the time off that is needed to handle a much different and difficult job of caring for and enjoying whatever precious time they are going to be given with their sick little one. We lost our daughter Zoey to brain cancer on December 13th, 2006. We were given the gift of time when our daughter was diagnosed in July of 2005. Zoey's diagnosis became, not an unfortunate call, but an affirmation of life inspiring all of us around her to cherish life. I had chosen the name Zoey because the meaning of the name is life and a true life force she was. A very short diagnosis of two weeks turned into eighteen beautiful months of life. We got to be there when she rushed into this world in a quick eleven minute birth and we got to be there when she took her last peaceful breath in her favorite chair in our living room with all of her family telling her how much we loved her and we were so very, very blessed with all the joyous moments in-between. We feel so very blessed to be a part of Zoey's life despite the length. Zoey made a lot of life happen in the short time that she was here and we would like to take that gift she gave to me and all around her and pass it along to other families dealing with terminally ill children.
