Featured Artist Jim Smutek at Russell Gallery

Detroit, Michigan January 23, 2009 Auto part art style is an original and creative art style that you can witness from the creative mind and hands of Jim Smutek.

This weekend at the Russell Gallery is the Opening Reception for “My Wish for 2009”. One of the featured artists that will be available for the Meet and Greet is Jim Smutek. Jim’s artwork starts in the streets and drives it’s way right into the art galleries. His artwork is automatically distinctive and unique and will be on display inside Detroit’s greatest art Mecca. Jim Smutek is a 20 year Ford Motor Company former employee turned artist. He uses unconventional materials such as car and truck parts as well as nuts, screws and even rebar. These materials are used to create beautiful art pieces including tables and clocks that have found their way into the homes of proud owners: Jay Leno and Jesse James from Orange County Choppers fame. The exhibition will take place on January 24th, 2009 from 3pm – 8pm in The Russell Gallery located inside the Russell Bazaar. There will also be food and music provided by 3 of Detroit’s most talented DJ’s. Thomas Emmanuel, Gabe Real and Marcus Beier will be providing the music while Jim Smutek and other artists will be on hand to talk about their art work.
