Oakton, VA – Mosaic Harmony, an interfaith, multicultural community choir based in Northern Virginia, proudly presents David K. North and the House of Jam band in a pre-Valentine’s Day concert to benefit Mosaic Harmony. The themed concert, “The Many Moods of Love”, will take place on Saturday, February 6, 2010 at 7:30pm at UUCF, 2709 Hunter Mill Road, Oakton, VA.
This will be the third time the band has performed to benefit the choir and its operations. The versatility and musicianship of its members in their November 2008 and January 2009 concerts, was so well attended and received by the audience, that they were asked to return this season. North, who also serves as director of Mosaic Harmony, says “it was fantastic to be able to perform in Northern Virginia since we are primarily based in Maryland.” The band consists of: David Ylvisaker-keyboards, vocals; Dave Hanbury-lead and acoustic guitar, vocals; Steve Sachse- bass guitar; Andy Hamburger-percussion and David K. North-lead vocals.
The band whose repertoire includes Pop, Top 40, R&B, jazz and rock and roll, is comprised of a group of friends with well over 25 years of expertise in the professional music business. That expertise has served them well as it includes studio and location recording, recording mixing and mastering, performance and group management. Deciding to formally become a band in the fall of 2008 and naming the group after Hanbury’s Beltsville MD based recording studio, the band has performed at several venues since their November 2008 concert. “Performing as a group was something we had always discussed over the years and never seemed to get around to doing”, said North, who had his own busy schedule to contend with and figure out how to add one more thing. North also noted that, “the best part of it is that we have known each other for years and really enjoy being able to have fun performing music we all liked.”
Advance tickets will be available through Mosaic Harmony’s website, www.mosaicharmony.org after November 1, with sponsorship opportunities also available.
