"Contemporary Photo Impressionists" art book now available at major booksellers

Sunbury Press, Inc. has released the art compilation "Contemporary Photo Impressionists" featuring photographers currently working in this genre.

Camp Hill, PA - Sunbury Press, Inc. has announced the release of "Contemporary Photo Impressionists".

Most people who enjoy fine art are well aware of the Impressionist painters - Monet, Renoir, Manet, Pisarro, etc. Their work was noted for its emphasis on light and composition, utilizing reduced focus and/or pronounced brush strokes to achieve a blurring effect or slight disintegration of the image. In a sense, the image looks somewhat unfinished, incomplete, or out of focus.

Since the advent of cameras, photographers have achieved similar results using elements in the environment, technical capabilities of cameras, lenses and filters, process embellishment, and more recently, digital embellishment using computer software.

This book has collected the work of eight leading photo impressionists, currently working in this genre. Those artists include:

Larry Blackwood
Robert Bridges
Wes Carson
Larry Chait
Kris Moore
Linda Plaisted
Darlene Poloniak
Lawrence von Knorr

The compilation was edited by T K McCoy, who has produced five other titles for Sunbury Press, including:

"The Imaginary Landscapes of Thomas Harker"
"The Fiber Art of Bonnie J Smith"
"Pennsylvania Through the Seasons"
"Images of Italy"
"Photo Impressionism in the Digital Age"

Receiving honorable mention in the contest and also appearing in the book are the following artists:

Alecia Nye
Diane Seskes
Abhi Ganju

The cover image was selected from all submissions. The image "In a Monet" by Robert Bridges won this honor.

Hermann(05.14.2012 11:1:37): here than how I have tried to over and over. Art history is a phpgotraohy lesson that is very much needed. I would go so far as to say look not only at the classics and impressionists but also the modern and abstract expressionist movement. Light is light, emotion is emotion and a story isn't just one language. Some art is poetry, some art is a novel and the same is true for photographs.
