On Wednesday, July 8 at 8:35 p.m. (Pacific), documentary director David Lasdon discusses his current film project “Where’s the Party?” www.wheresthepartydoc.com on the Internet’s Young Gun Conservative Radio Network http://www.blogtalkradio.com/YoungGunConservative. “Where’s the Party?” takes an uncensored look into where the Republicans are, where they were, where they’re headed, and how the American public perceives them in contentiously partisan times.
After being named delegate to the 2008 Republican National Convention, Lasdon realized he had an insider’s look at the unfiltered opinions of the real people who make up the Party. From the man on the street to Dennis Prager, Fred Barnes, and Jonah Goldberg, Lasdon’s delegate status at the 2008 Convention brought him into the fold, with access to Party leaders the average Republican never meets. Confronting governors, congressmen and senators, he asked them point blank what they intend to do about the state of the Party. “Where’s the Party?” cuts through the media babble to find out what really happened to the Republican Party and how it plans to get back to its foundation.
Capturing commentary from around the country, “Where’s the Party?” includes interviews with Republicans, Democrats, and Independents and documents every step of the election by following the Presidential race, the New Mexico senate race, several congressional races, and a local state assembly race. Most recently, Lasdon and his crew traveled to Washington and interviewed Eric Cantor, Paul Ryan, Kevin McCarthy, Cathy McMorris-Rodgers, and Dan Lungren.
“We entered 2008 with America partisan and polarized,” said Lasdon. “Not only don’t we listen to what the other guy has to say, we don’t even want him to say it. Whatever happened to free speech and exchanging ideas?” There’s a story here -- one that will never be seen on CNN or read about in The New York Times. It’s a story that deserves to be told,” added Lasdon.

About David Lasdon
David Lasdon became a Republican based on the ideas of small government, individualism, lower taxes, and national security. Like a lot of people Lasdon had an idea of what was wrong with the Republican Party. Like a lot of people he had nowhere to express it other than with friends. That changed when Lasdon was named a Republican National Convention delegate. Realizing he’d have unique access to party leadership, Lasdon created the documentary “Where’s the Party? ” to find out what people thought the Republican Party stood for and what it needed to do in 2008. Lasdon is a writer and producer in Los Angeles. Prior to his work on “Where’s the Party?” he wrote and produced the award winning feature film Mind Games and executive produced the documentary Women on the Water, a feature documentary following the women’s Olympic rowing team. Lasdon attended New York University, and received a B.S. in Marketing from the Stern School of Business in 1988.
