During an exclusive, in-depth interview with Justin Lazard, former actor and model, in New York for Time/Warner publications on the LAKE COUNTY VS. JUSTIN LAZARD, stemming from a July 2006 indecent exposure charge, his term-pregnant wife Shannon Fluet-Lazard, a "Project Runway" model and designer, was rushed to her doctor due to frighteningly high blood pressure and cramping.
Mrs. Fluet- Lazard's doctor, Dr. Ira Jaffe, said her sudden onset of high-blood pressure was due to stress, in otherwise perfectly healthy pregnancy.
Due to irresponsible and inaccurate reporting by Elizabeth Larson, in her Lakeport County News article of 23 January 2009 (http://lakeconews.com/content/view/7075/764/) misstating the misdemeanor charge for indecent exposure and annoying/molesting (public masturbation) to molesting - a child.
The bottom-feeding site, TMZ, of course, without delay, hungrily lapped up the tale on 25 January 2009, escalating into a blitz of child molestation allegations. The news spread to international outlets and unbelievably, Lazard was added to sexual predator sites. According to the Lazards, "this has now caused severe damage and potentially ruined our lives – haven’t we been haunted enough?”
Moreover, according to former District Attorney Kevin Burke (in charge during the original incident), the case should have been dropped. "Mr. Lazard was not in his right mind at the time of the occurrence, the medical records are well documented, and has had no further incidents since". But current Deputy District Attorney, Edward Borg, is pushing the case and currently fighting a requested continuance, even armed with the knowledge of Ms. Fluet -Lazard's pregnancy status.
Mr. Lazard made a gift to the county of a children's playground, "as a compensation for his shameful actions during a time of an undiagnosed bipolar disorder", according to Lazard. While the playground is appreciated and enjoyed by many Lakeport locals it has, unfortunately, been polluted by certain media outlets to appear sinister.
The irony? The Lake County DA's office claims they must protect children - but appear to be prepared to put an unborn one at risk.
Ms. Fluet-Lazard and her unborn child are currently being monitored at an undisclosed location, and an emergency caesarean section is being considered.
