In conjunction with his latest CD āSINGS WITH STRINGSā on Artistry Music, which marks his debut full jazz/pop vocal album, legendary jazz trumpeter Rick Braun will perform in concert with the Lincoln Park High School Symphony Orchestra on Friday, Feb. 17 at 7 PM. The concert will be open to the public and proceeds will support LPHS performing arts. Braun will also conduct a master class/open rehearsal on Thursday, Feb. 16 from 11:30 ā 2:30 PM in the school auditorium. This event will be open to school instrumental and vocal music majors only and possible guests from other Chicago Public Schools.
The Lincoln Park High School Symphony Orchestra has been rehearsing Braunās charts for the performance as part of their curriculum for several months. Performing with Braun as part of his rhythm section will be Philippe Saisse, who produced and orchestrated the album on keys, Mike Mason on bass, Dale Prasco on guitar and Jake Fansler on drums. The Lincoln Park High School Symphony Orchestra is conducted by Karl Lenss, features 65 student musicians, including a 50-piece string section.
In commenting Rick Braun stated: āThis is very exciting concert for me. Not only do I get to continue to perform my lifelong passion of singing, along with my trumpet playing, I get to perform with this incredible orchestra of young talented students and musicians. As professional musicians we all aspire to be part of this process What a great opportunity for us all!
