Martha JO Peters, An Amazing Woman

With spirit and pluck, Martha JO Peters has accomplished much in life and traveled the globe as well.

At the age of nineteen she entered the U.S. Marine Corps and served three years. With the rank of Sargeant, she had a Secret Clearance and trained new male recruits in computer operations. At the end of her enlistment, she returned to civilian life, working for an insurance company on client policies. She used the full amount of her G.I. Bill for Education funds to earn a Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts and then continued to attain her lifetime teaching credential. She then continued attending classes evenings to get her Masters and a Ph.D., both in Educational Administration. Not content to stop there, she also completed law school in four additional years. During these years she was working full time days teaching high school. She taught History, Government, Economics, and Law for twenty years as well as six years of Drawing and Painting classes.  During these years, she also helped to build three homes, owned and operated a small motel, owned and developed a thriving import business, and traveled to France, China, London, and Central America as well as across the United States. Studying languages was important to her and she is fluent in Spanish, with 90% verbal fluency. She also speaks first level French, Mandarin, and Russian. She is a photographer, quilter, and writer. At present she is the creator of www.jopeters.blogspot.com, a blog site that has a variety of postings on topics ranging from art, the home and garden to politics and science.
