(Chicago, IL) – Ask a Chicago jobseeker about their recent experience at a job fair or networking event and the response will most likely be unpleasant. Nobody knows this better then Out-of-Work Chicago founders Patrick Iwanicki and Erik Jensen, who took it upon themselves to change the face of the job seeking experience after loosing their jobs last year. In launching their classy weekly event series in coordination with the Out-of-Work Chicago website, these two men are educating and connecting all those eager to get back into the job market.
A multi-faceted website brings Out-of-Work Chicago’s vision to life with an interactive blog to disseminate news, a forum to facilitate discussion, resource reviews, a job board to post employment opportunities and an events page to bring people together. An extraordinary panel of experts have partnered with Out-of-Work Chicago to share their expertise in resume building, interview strategy and career coaching by answering Out-of-Work Chicago member’s questions via the site forum.
“Recognizing the wealth of knowledge and insight within the job-seeking community, we sought to establish a platform to facilitate the exchange of news, advice and support, so out-of-work professionals can help one another with the many issues that surround unemployment,” states Out-of-Work Chicago co-founder, Patrick Iwanicki.
To create an even wider interactive experience they decided to launch an event series to give job seekers face-to-face time with recruiters, industry experts and other individuals who find themselves in the same situation. Beginning Wednesday, February 25th Out-of-Work Chicago will kick-off its weekly series with their inaugural event at Flatwater (321 North Clark St.). Don’t expect your typical job-seeking experience at this sophisticated and swanky networking event. Not only will guests leave with sound advice and serious connections, but they’ll also have had an amazing time.
