WRVS volunteers getting through in bad weather

WRVS meals on wheels are still getting through to older people in the UK

Following the severe weather conditions that continue to cause havoc across Britain, WRVS volunteers are still delivering Meals on Wheels and providing other services to the best of their ability, despite the heavy snow. Please do bear with us if there are slight delays. Ninety per cent of our meal deliveries are being made apart from in rural areas where access is impossible. WRVS has been speaking to media and radio to provide updates on WRVS services in local areas. Lynne Berry, WRVS chief executive said: “I'm immensely proud of all the volunteers and staff who have been making sure that older people are kept safe and well during these difficult weather conditions. I want to give my particular thanks to all those who have gone the extra mile (often literally) to keep our vital services going as efficiently as possible at this time.” About WRVS WRVS (http://www.wrvs.org.uk) volunteers and employees work together to support people in need who might otherwise feel lonely and isolated, whether at home, in hospital, or in times of crisis.
